Vakhtang Zaalishvili (Private International Law)
In 1997 graduted from Tbilisi State University, Departament of International Law and International Relations. Candidate of Legal Sciences (equals Doctoral academic degree according to the legislation in force).
From 2002 Vakhtang Zaalishvili carries out seminars in the Tbilisi State University, on Master’s Program in European Law. In 2005 he became Assistant Professor of the same University.
Since his graduation Vakhtang Zaalishvili participated in different International Projects. At present he is working as Deputy Team Leader in the EU Project for Assistance of the Elaboration of Strategy on Administrative and Civil Law Reform in Georgia.
Irakli Sokolovsky (Comparative Contract Law and Contract Drafting)
In 2006 gradated from Masaryk University, Faculty of Social Studies, European Studies/International Relations. He obtained Doctoral degree in the same University.
In 2003-2005 Irakli Sokolovski was teaching Civil Law in Masaryk University, Faculty of Law. At the same time, he held various positions in the Supreme Court of Czech Republic.
Currently, Irakli Sokolovsky works in the project “Support to the Reform of the Parliament of Georgia" as a legal expert. His responsibilities include supporting the Parliament of Georgia in the area of approximation of the national legislation to the EU standards; Providing consultations in the field of EU law; Supporting management of EUSP Georgia and commenting the compatibility of law drafts with EU legislation.
Levan Bodzashvili (International Constitutional Law)
Graduated from the University of Oxford and obtained Master’s degree in International Human Rights Law. Currently he continues his studies at the College of Europe, Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy.
In 2005 Levan Bodzashvili was Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia.
In 2005 was appointed as a Doctorate General for European Affairs of the MFA Georgia. Since 2004 Levan Bodzashvili is a Substitute Member of the Venice Commission in respect of Georgia.
Nino Kiknadze (Health Law)
In 2000 Nino Kiknadze graduated with honors from Tbilisi State University, Law Faculty. She continued her studies in Columbia University of Law and Leiden University, where she participated in the intensive law program. In 2003 she returned to Georgia and obtained Master’s degree in Public Administration at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs.
Currently, Nino Kiknadze works in the “Open Society Georgia Foundation" as “Law, Media and Health Project" Director. Her main responsibilities include planning, organizing and executing the project; Planning and organizing trainings; Reviewing of grant proposals and working on “Guide Book for Lawyers".
George Tugushi (International Human Rights Law)
In 1999 graduated from Tbilisi State University, Faculty of International Law and Relations with a Diploma in International Law. He continued his studies in Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, and in 2001 graduated with MA degree in Public Administration. In 2003-2004 he was pursuing his studies in Sweden, University of Lund. In 2004 he graduated from the Faculty of Law with LL.M. degree in International Human Rights Law.
Since his graduation from Tbilisi State University Mr. Tugushi held various positions at Municipality of Tbilisi, Parliament of Georgia, Urban Institute, and United Nations Development Program.
In 2002 he is a visiting lecturer at Georgian Institute of Public Affairs. Since that period he has conducted classes at the School of Public Administration, School of Local Government and GIPA Law School.
After the completion of his studies in Sweden, Mr. Tugushi continued his professional activities at the OSCE Mission to Georgia, in the capacity of human Rights Officer. On December 1, 2005 Mr. Tugushi was elected as a member to the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT).
Zaza Meishvili (International Criminal Law)
In 1995 graduated from Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Law.
Since 2006 Zaza Meishvili represents the Chairperson of Chamber of Criminal Cases, Deputy Chairperson of Supreme Court of Georgia. At the same time, he is the Chairman of the Board of the Georgian Judges Association.
Nino Khurtsidze (Legal English, Legal Drafting, International Public Law)
In 1996 graduated with honors from Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce and obtained Master’s degree in International Law. Since 2002 Nino Khurtsidze is a Ph.D. Candidate in International Relations; Dissertation Title: European Institutions and the Georgian Polity-Building: International and Domestic Influences on Georgia’s Legal Reforms.
In 2002-2004 Nino Khurtsidze worked as a Legislative Fellow in American Bar Association, Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative. At present, she is the Senior Legal Advisor in Georgian Bar Association. At the same time, she is the chairman of Accreditation Committee of the Higher Educational Institutions.
Vasil Kenkishvili (International Trade Law, International Business Transactions, Financial Law)
In 2003 Vasil Kenkishvili won an Edmund S. Muskie Fellowship (U.S. State Departament) to study at the AMERICAN UNIVERSITY, WASHINGTON COLLEGE OF LAW, Washington D.C. USA, where he obtained LL.M degree concentrating on International Business Law.
Since 2006 Vasil Kenkishvili is the Chief Legal Officer in Baira Group LLC (Kazakh Investment Management Company). His main responsibilities include management of the legal team of all the companies involving Kazakh investments, drafting international deeds, negotiating contracts with the investors and government.
In 2006 Vasil Kenkishvili was appointed as an Associate Professor in Georgian Institute of Public Affairs.
Kakha Tsikarishvili (Comparative Criminal Justice)
In 2003 Vasil Kenkishvili won an Edmund S. Muskie Fellowship (U.S. State Departament) to study at the AMERICAN UNIVERSITY, WASHINGTON COLLEGE OF LAW, Washington D.C. USA, where he obtained LL.M degree concentrating on International Human Rights Law.
At present, Kakha Tsikarishvili is the Deputy Team Leader of the project “Court administration and Management Reform in Georgia".
Maia Okruashvili (International Corporate Law)
In 2003 graduated with honors from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University with qualification of lawyer. She continued her studies in London School of Economics and Political Science.
In 2006 she obtained LL.M. degree from Columbia University, School of Law; concentrating on Corporate Law, Securities regulation and International Trade.
Kakha Kuchava (Corporate Governance)
In 2001 graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, faculty of Law.
In 2003 Kakha Kuchava continued his studies in Nottingham Law School, England, UK and got Master’s degree in Corporate Law.
Since 2005 Kakha Kuchava is the Legal Advisor in “GEORGIA CORPORATE GOVERNANCE PROJECT"; International Finance Corporation, World Bank Group. His main responsibilities include Providing legal consultations to the Pilot Program Companies on Corporate Governance issues;
Drafting amendments and proposed changes to the existing legislation (Law on Entrepreneurs, Law on Securities Market, etc.); Providing legal reviews and analysis of on-going legislative issues; Conducting research on corporate governance related issues and Providing legal consultations and assistance to the GOG on various legal and legislative issues.
Leila Marshania (Foundations of EU Law)
In 2000 graduated from Vilnius Gediminas University (Lithuania), Faculty of Management and Business Administration, where she got bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After graduation Leila Marshania continued her studies in Moscow Diplomatic Academy, Faculty of International Law. In 2002 she obtained Specialist Degree in International Relations, Specialization in International Law. In 2004 she received Master’s degree in European Law from Lund University.
Since 2006 Leila Marshania works as a legal expert in Georgian Legal Task Force of Council of Europe.
Elene Jibladze (General Management)
In 2001 gradated from University of Georgia, Carl Vinson Institute of Government.
In 2004 she was selected as Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program Fellow (administered by the State Department of the United States) for her graduate studies. She received her MA Degree from University of Pennsylvania, Graduate School of Education, where she concentrated her studies in the field of Educational Policy.
Since 2002 Elene Jibladze is a visiting lecturer in Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, conduction classes in Public Management. At present, she is Accreditation Team Leader in USAID funded General Education Decentralization and Accreditation Project (GEDA).
Baadur Kipiani (Banking Law)
In 1996 graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, faculty of Law.
In 2000-2002 he was a Research Scholar at the John Marshall Law School, Chicago, Illinois, USA. In 2003 Baadur Kipiani obtained PhD in Banking Law.
In 1996-2006 Baadur Kipiani held various positions in National Bank of Georgia and ProCredit Bank. Since his graduation he is the professor of International Banking and Corporate Law in Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilsi State University, Faculty of Law.
Giorgi Tsiklauri (Banking Law)
In 1995 graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, faculty of Law.
In 2006-2007 Giorgi Tsiklauri was the Director of Legal Department, JSC “Bank of Georgia", where his main responsibilities included analysis of conformity of internal documentation with acting legislation; Planning and implementation of all necessary actions for unification of internal documentation with acting legislation; Application and development of mechanisms for revealing of legal risks in Bank’s activity in minimum period of time; Investigation of Bank’s activity in order to reveal any legal risks; Planning and implementation of all necessary actions for elimination of revealed legal risks.
Since 2007 Giorgi Tsiklauri is a visiting lecturer in Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, School of Law and Diplomacy.
