Facilities

GIPA is well-equipped with appropriate facilities such as auditorium, library, café, lecture and seminar rooms etc.

Library - The Library provides information, reference and lending services to Institute students, members and staff. The Library has a range of services to meet your information needs. The Library staff can offer help and guidance where appropriate.

GIPA's library holds mainly English textbooks. The total exceeds 7 000 books. Recently the library was enriched by Georgian and Russian textbooks and journals. Major laws adopted by the Georgian Parliament and their English translations are also available for students and the faculty. A substantial collection of journalism books is being added to the library. Click here to get the Thematical List of Library Books.

A copy of most books on our student reading lists is kept in as a reference collection in the Library. This set is only available for consultation in the Library.

Students involved in research or dissertation work should contact the Librarian for information on a range of information sources that might be of relevance.

Monday through Thursday: 10 am - 6 pm
Friday: 10 am - 3 pm

Computer & Internet Centers - GIPA is equipped with computer labs for the use of course students. The Lecture Labs open from 10 am. to 7 pm, whereas, the computer labs for practical training are kept open after office hours. The computer labs are also accessible for alumni and training course participants:

GIPA has 3 computer labs with 69 workstations. All students have unlimited access to the Internet. In addition, there are 30 workstations for the administration and the faculty. The Institute has broadcast equipment and editing capability (2 video editing labs with 8 workstations). After students acquire basic computer skills, they use computers for all assignments. Each graduate student is provided with an access to a computer.

The facility was made possible through the support of the US State Department, Open Society - Georgia Foundation, Open Society Institute, Eurasia Foundation and the East-West Development Foundation in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Café - Best value in the neighborhood. Come for breakfast, lunch or dinner, GIPA cafe has something for any time and appetite... This is a place where students, staff and visitors can enjoy coffee, snacks and beverages. One can have a nice break, socialize and network with different interesting people that come to enjoy the atmosphere. The café is also a place for meetings, discussions, press conferences, parties and events.

In addition to that every first Thursday of the month the café is a place for joint lunches, an event organized by the Institute for the students of all the programs including the guest speakers.

Tennis Club "Dinamo" - (address: Right Embankment #2) contains tennis court and gym, is available for the GIPA staff and students. Experienced instructor will supervise the training process.
Working hours: Every Sunday from 6 to 8 PM
