Admission Criteria and Standards
Various programs at GIPA have different admission standards and procedures. In general, the applicants must hold their undergraduate degree and submit an official statement/diploma to certify this. As graduate programs of the Institute are distinguished for their highly intensive workload and dynamism, it is necessary that applicant possess the basic knowledge of their chosen field of study as well as the understanding of general socio-political developments in the country and desirably, beyond it. We are looking for the students who can first contextualize and then apply their knowledge in a wider social and public context.
Outstanding Georgian and English language proficiency, ability to read a large amount of text (both English and Georgian), analysis and effective summarizing skills are highly required of a potentially successful applicant; preparing various types of essays, memos or reviews are also amongst our priority criteria when assessing the applicants.
Motivation, accuracy and self-discipline are the abilities, which you will need to successfully graduate from GIPA. Good knowledge of computer and digital mediums are the must, since the large portion of our graduate programs entail research and subsequent preparation of various papers.
